“As I see it, you have developed an atmosphere of trust, loyalty, enthusiasm, excellence, and a feeling of family with your staff and clients.  It doesn’t get any better.”

“Multiple day programs create a connection between owners, guests, and staff so that at the end, everyone feels like family.”

Winter Camping

Mike Wendland published this winter-camping article and created a closed Facebook Group called Roadtreking Winter Freezeout Camping Adventure for the folks who signed up. This was the second annual event that takes place at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Northern Michigan in January. There was about 2 feet of snow on the ground and the temperatures stayed in the low 20’s. Park rangers plowed the campsites and we had electricity but no running water. We drove into town for dinner one night and had dinner the other night at the restaurant within the park closer to the upper falls. A ranger provided snow shoes and led a snow shoe interpretive hike through the forest to the lower falls. A camp host was also on hand: a couple who live in Florida but spend about two months at Tahquamenon Falls each winter. The hosts had tramped down the trail somewhat so that we didn’t have to do that.

While most of the participants were snow-shoeing, several others went to a dog-sled race event held nearby on Saturday.

Each evening there was a big bonfire around which we sat and socialized. In all, there were about 25 camping units. One was a truck camper, one a 5th wheel (the hosts) and all the rest were Class B’s – Roadtreks of every vintage and model configuration plus the 3 ARV representatives. Folks came from all over; many couples but several singletons as well.

There were three ARV units represented: Imagine, Alvar, and Hans.

The 5th annual winter camp out dates are to be determined.  Check out this article for more information.
