Advanced RV (ARV) is partnering with E&P Hydraulics, a Dutch company, to offer E&P’s high end automated hydraulic leveling system for Class B motor homes. While E&P has installed over 10,000 of these leveling systems in Europe, ARV will be the first in the U.S. to offer this leveling system.
E&P’s automated hydraulic leveling system will be installed on ARV’s custom Class B Motor homes and can be a retrofit on other motor home brands. The E&P hydraulic leveling system automatically interfaces with the VB Air Suspension system currently on all ARV’s 4×4’s and their other rear drive Sprinter chassis models.
The first U.S. install is currently on ARV’s Cruzmobile, a demo model, on which clients and staff have tested the system with positive reviews. They experienced a perfectly level motor home for sleeping, as well as increased stability when parked, so the parked vehicle did not move when trucks passed or under high winds.
May 19 – 21, 2017, Mike and Marcia Neundorfer will be taking Cruzmobile to the B-14 Annual Class B Rally in Williamsburg Va, where they will give attendees a demonstration of the leveling system.
How does it work? Before leveling, The E&P control sends a signal to the VB Air Suspension system to lower, so leveling can start at the lowest point possible. Then, the cylinders on the EP leveling system are driven up and down hydraulically for positive actuation. With the press of a button, the chassis is raised side to side and front to back on large, high support area stainless steel pads. The vehicle is leveled with the least amount of lift. The design has no springs to fatigue or break. The system even has the capability to help get the unit “unstuck” in adverse terrain. In “travel” position, the pads are close to the wheels and higher than the suspension so ground clearance is not compromised. The total weight of all of the components is 149 pounds.
Advanced RV is excited to be able to offer E&P’s automated hydraulic leveling system on new builds, as well as a retrofits. Watch the video to learn more.
